Great at first, not so much afterwords.

Having a locking case is very important to me. My job keeps me outside and constantly on the move. I keep my AirPods on my keys and my keys stay on my belt loop.

I bought this case when the AirPod 4s first came out. I had an issue in the past where an AirPod fell out of the charging case while it was attached to my keys and I did not want that to happen again.

For anyone who does not know, the lid and the bottom of the case are two separate pieces. At first it was a great budget option. The lid stayed closed and the AirPods stayed in. But after about a year the lid lost its grip. Any time I opened the case, the lid would just fall off. No big deal, I thought, I could just hold it in place since the lock still worked.

Last week I was walking to my car from the gas station and dropped my keys. They slid under my car, but I grabbed them and went home without thinking much of it. When I got home, I realized one of my AirPods was missing. I assumed I had misplaced it. It was dead so I could not track it, and I eventually gave up looking.

A couple of days later, I went back to the same place and asked if anyone had seen it. They told me they found a crushed AirPod right where I had parked.

That means when my keys fell, the case must have opened, the AirPod fell out, and the case closed again. Pretty frustrating considering that is the exact problem I bought this case to prevent.

The perfect case!

I was first introduced to this AirPod Case by a YouTube video and I am so happy with it. The case is very protective and I currently only have the use of one hand so the magnetic latch lis a lifesaver!
